장식을 배제하고, 형태를 구성하는 기본적인 요소로만 공간을 만든다는건 꽤나 쉽지 않은 작업이다. 재료와 재료가 만나는 부분이라던가 불필요한 선을 정리하고 최소한의 소재가 가지는 텍스쳐나 질감을 통해 품위있는 멋을 만들어야 한다. 자칫 형태적인 미에 사로잡혀 대상의 본질을 놓쳐서는 안된다. 우리는 기능적이면서 수선할 수 있어야 하며, 오랫동안 유지할 수 있는 해결책을 만들어야 한다.

이 집에서 중요하게 생각했던 다실의 전경은 애초에 상상했던 모습보다 더 극적으로 다가왔다. 눈이 내려앉은 소나무는 한 폭의 한국화를 보는 듯 했다. 다실은 다도를 위한 독립된 공간으로 주택에서는 보통 정원과 연결되어 자연과 조화를 이룬다. 아파트나 빌라에서는 마당이나 정원을 만들 수 없고, 4층 높이의 이 집에서 가능했던 차경을 통해 눈앞의 소나무를 더 극적으로 볼 수 있길 기대했다.
차항아리나 도자기등을 올려 놓을 수 있는 찻장은 오크구조재로 기둥과 보를 만들고 건식무늬목을 입힌 자작나무 판재를 올려 무거운 차항아리도 올릴 수 있게 제작했다. 천정은 히노끼를 40mm 폭으로 켜고 2mm매지를 소나무 방향으로 향하게끔 만들어 소나무를 더욱 포커싱 할 수 있게 만들었다. 천장 모서리의 연속된 3개의 다운라이트와 ㄱ자 간접등은 그 의도를 더욱 강하게 만들어 준다.
한국전통건축구법 중 메뚜기장부맞춤이라는 디테일이 있다. 장부를 길게 만들어 기둥에 홈을 파서 관통시키고 뺄목을 내어서 구멍을 내고 산지를 박아 장부가 빠지지 않게 하는 맞춤법이다. 이론이 굉장히 쉽고 기능적으로도 튼튼하여 무언가를 짜 맞출때 용이한 방법이다. 그 방법에서 모티브를 얻었다. 나는 가구를 제작할때 디자인도 중요하지만, 어떻게 하면 쉽게 제작할 수 있는가를 함께 고민한다. 현장제작이라는 여건상 쉽게 만들 수 있어야 만듦새도 좋고, 비용도 절감 할 수가 있다. 전통적인 방식의 모티브에 약간의 응용으로 한국적인 정서의 찻장을 만들 수 있었다. 피스자리는 오크목을 원기둥 젓가락 형태로 깍아서 피스 박은 곳에 집어넣고 끝을 잘라 구멍을 막아주면 피스자국도 안보이고 깔끔하게 만들 수 있다.
The view of the tea room, which was considered important in this house, came more dramatically than originally imagined. The snowy pine tree seemed to see a Korean painting. The tea room is an independent space for tea ceremony, and in houses, it is usually connected to a garden to harmonize with nature. It was expected that a yard or garden could not be made in apartments or villas, and that the pine trees in front of us could be seen more dramatically through the car view possible in this four-story house.
The tea cupboard, where tea pots and ceramics can be placed, is made of oak structural materials, and is made of birch boards coated with dry-patterned wood so that heavy tea pots can be raised. The ceiling made the pine tree more focused by turning on the hinoki 40mm wide and turning the 2mm medium toward the pine tree. The three consecutive downlights and L-shaped indirect lights at the edge of the ceiling make the intention stronger.
Among the traditional Korean construction methods, there are details called keyed mortise-and-tenon joint , tusk tenon joint. It is a customized construction method in which a long tenon is penetrated by inserting a mountain after making a hole in the column to prevent the tenon from falling out, and then drilling a hole. Theory is so easy and functionally powerful that it’s an easy way to put something together. I got a motif from the this method. Design is important when making furniture, but I think about how to make it easily. Due to the conditions of on-site production, it must be easily made to reduce the quality and cost. With some applications to traditional motifs, it was possible to create a tea cup with Korean sentiment. If you cut the oak neck into the shape of a cylindrical chopstick, put it in the place where the piece is stuck, and cut the end to block the hole, you can make it neat without seeing the piece marks.
